Description

Works to French doors including repairing and consolidating existing timber where feasible; replacing decayed timber elements with new hardwood to match existing profiles; replacement of window panes with laminated glass or vacuum glazing; repainting doors with suitable exterior-grade paint; and improving draught-proofing. Works to second floor sash windows including installation of draught-proofing measures; adjusting sash guides to ensure a tighter fit and reduce play in the sashes; rubbing back and redecorating existing paintwork to protect the timber from moisture ingress; potentially removing sashes to check and improve operation of pulley mechanisms and condition of sash cords; and installation of polycarbonate secondary glazing while maintaining the visual appearance from the exterior.
