Description

The proposals form part of essential maintenance works. The internal spaces at lower- ground floor experience significant condensation during winter months. The application is for: 1. Changing the external metalwork support to the ground floor balcony overlooking the garden. Removing the existing metal brackets set within the external brick and replacing with four metal posts will separate the balcony assembly from the brickwork and stop the current cold bridging effect of the metal plates. To complete the works, the metalwork will be painted in a matt black paint to match the existing. 2. Installing two small, low-noise, heat recovery ventilation units (one to the bedroom at the front and one to the living space at the rear) to improve the ventilation to the internal space and reduce the internal humidity levels. 3. Installing an additional vent grille to the disused chimney breast at lower ground floor level to encourage air movement and manage condensation levels.
