Description

The mature/post-mature pear tree is an approximately 10m tall freestanding specimen, which trifurcates at approximately 1m above ground level. Extensive advanced decay is present on the south- western trunk with a large longitudinal crack and woodpecker hole noted just above the point at which the trunk trifurcates. The crown of this trunk/branch is dying back (early stages), and the likelihood of this entire section of the tree failing onto nearby infrastructure (an oil tank) is unacceptably high - see accompanying photos of trunk/branch defects. Recommended tree. Remove the entire south- western.
