Tree 1 - Beech - Reduce lateral branching towards the house (South) by up to 2 metres, leaving retained branch lengths of 4-6m, tapering the reductions into the sides and top to maintain a natural crown shape. Reduce the over-extended competing leader on the East side of the crown by up to 2-3m back into the main crown line. Crown thin by upto 15% removing crossing, defective limbs and dense branching on the periphery of the crown.
