1. T2 Wellingtonia tree (to the rear of No.3 Becketts) - Reduction of the long lateral branches to the lower crown only by 2-3m (as illlustrated on the supporting photo). Sever Ivy at the base of the stem and removal of deadwood.Height: 23m Crown spread: 14m (approx) Ivy-clad stem and major deadwood throughout the canopy over 100mm in dia. The lower crown has lateral branches overextended in comparison to the remaining crown, the nature of these species is prone to branch failure, and there has been a history of branch failures on this tree. Tree works to BS3998 (2010) No wounds to exceed 50mm in dia. By reducing the lower lateral branches will encourage better strength and thickening of the branches, providing a better chance of a strongly formed canopy.
