Description

1. T1 Oak - Fell15m Oak-bifurcation at 1.5m. Previously pollarded at 9m.North facing stem, inspection of 2 open wounds at approx 7m and 9m revealed the stem is completely hollow. Approx 2 inch thick supporting live wood bearing the weight of the upper canopy. Cavity approx 2.5m long and retaining water at base. Probing is suggested that it is likely further decay under debris. Deadwood present but upper crown not showing typical signs of decline.South facing stem over canal tow path - large old pruning wound at approx 6m. Poor pruning technique/possibly storm damage wound has decayed down the main stem. Callous wood growth healthy but suggests further decay is likely due to the size of the wound. Dead wood >2inch thick present.Suggested works due to location and likelihood of property damage/public footpath and lack of suitable target pruning growth points in lower canopy- we would recommend dismantle fell.
