Application Details
Description
T1 Red Flowering Horse Chestnut ( Aesculus incana) Reduce height by 1.25-1.5m Reduce lateral spread by 1.5-1.75m Cutting back to appropriate growing points The tree has previously shed a large part of the upper crown and remedial work was carried out to reduce weight and wind resistance of the tree - whose structure is weakened by bacterial canker (bark opening to expose the inner wood to fungal infection) with deep lesions on the trunk and main framework. The above proposed works aims to extend the life of the tree and reduce the risk of further loss of major limbs. T2. Sycamore Remove dead and dying growth. The tree has suffered from significant root damage, during the construction works at the Town Hall. The canopy is now very sparse and the foliage is evident on approximately 50% of the canopy. The substantial amount of dead wood in the tree presents a real risk to those using the public-accessible, green space beneath the canopy. Further works may well be necessary, as the stresses of summer act on the demands for water, from a damaged root system
