External repairs and re-roofing across various areas within the Tudor Courtyard and Chapel to the Grade I listed Palace building and the Grade II listed Chapel. Works to consist of renewal of roof finishes where most deteriorated, to the South Range roof and Great Hall roof (west slope); works to repair/redecorate/upgrade and improve detailing to windows and doors to the South Range, including the renewal of the dormer and 2 no. windows at ground floor level; various masonry repairs, particularly to decorative elements of the Chapel, and significant cracking to the South Range; fire upgrades to the South Range roof and Great Hall roofspace where existing compartment lines are damaged and have been identified as high risk areas within the Palace Fire Strategy; removal of redundant services in the roof voids, which in turn reduces the fire load in these areas; upgrade and enlargement of Rainwater goods along with new water butts, within the scope areas to better cope with and futureproof for increased rainfall, and water management across the site; and improvements to drainage are also proposed to reduce risk of flooding in areas that have previously flooded and have been prone to movement.
