The works relate to two plants which have become overgrown and are beginning to cause issues for neighbouring properties. Neither have a TPO. Rear garden – large overgrown palm (palmetto) - Approximately 6m tall, non-woody trunk. - Now encroaching on the boundary and blocking light to the adjoining property. - Parts of the plant are already dying back. Proposal: remove the palm completely and replant with a smaller shrub more appropriate to the setting. Front garden – common elder shrub (sambucus) - An elder that has grown well beyond normal shrub scale and now forms a small tree. - Located close to the boundary wall and footpath. Proposal: reduce by 50%. Up to 4m from branch tips These works are intended to tidy and improve the front and rear gardens and have minimal impact on the public realm.
