Plum Tree – Reduce height and thin the decayed areas Laurel Bush – Reduce height to limit risk of falling branches This client has just had her planning application approved to thin and reduce the plum tree. However I looked at the tree last week and its not in a good state. I've recommended felling the tree as the tree has multiple broken/snapped branches in the canopy from pockets of rot in the crown and the base of the tree has various fruiting bodies. It seems to be in a state of decline and not really safe retain in this position.
