Description
G1 X 10 Leylandii trees Remove ten Leylandii trees situated along the Eastern boundary, which have arisen as a result of a lapsed hedge. G2 X 10 Remove ten Leylandii trees situated along the northern boundary, which have arisen as a result of a lapsed hedge. All stumps shall be ground out to enable replanting with 16x Western Red Cedar.Justification - The proposed works form part of a long-term management strategy to address excessive shading, poor hedge form, and the unsuitability of the existing Leylandii (Cuprocyparis leylandii) for their current location. The trees situated along the northern and eastern boundaries have originated from previously unmanaged hedge lines which have been allowed to develop into individual trees following the lapse of regular cyclical hedge maintenance. As a result, the trees have become excessively tall and dominant within the garden environment, causing significant shading and loss of natural light to the property and associated amenity areas. The Leylandii along the eastern boundary are also having an adverse impact on the adjacent railway corridor due to their size, density, and proximity to the boundary. Ongoing growth is likely to increase future management requirements and may contribute to concerns relating to encroachment, shading, and general maintenance adjacent to the railway infrastructure. The proposed removal works are considered appropriate arboricultural management to restore the boundary areas to a more suitable and sustainable condition. The trees offer limited individual arboricultural merit due to their origin as unmanaged hedge growth. The proposed works will:Improve natural light levels to the garden and property.Reduce excessive dominance and shading along the boundary areas.Prevent further encroachment and future management issues adjacent to the railway boundary.Allow for future replacement planting or more appropriate boundary management, if required. All works shall be carried out in accordance
