Description
In the garden between The Strand and the RiverExe we have inherited two 'Castlewellan' Leylandii trees that have grown into a common crown and have totally outgrown their location in height and width and density despite their annual maintenance. (they can be clearly seen on Google Maps though these pictures were probably taken some 2 or 3 years ago as our builders 'kit' is also shown). We wish to remove these one/two trees (with Exe Tree Care Ltd to dismantle them to ground level and grind out the stumps etc) and we will replant the area with hedging (possibly beech to match the existing hedge on the road frontage, or perhaps Griselina to handle the salt water spray that comes over the river wall at very high tides. I also want to plant some smaller trees for visual and wildlife interest ... possibly to include Crataegus Laevigata (Paul Scarlet) and a common Medlar. Many thanks(The Google Maps footage shows the garden which is opposite our house, that is clearly marked with "Strand End" over its front door)
