Description

Conversion of the existing green verge in front of the existing Fire Station along Sewardstone Road, utilizing the existing access from the road for the appliance to six parking bays (4.8x2.4m) to be used by on-call fire fighters responding to an emergency call. The existing green verge is adjacent to the existing access road used by the fire fighting appliance. The parking bays are not to be used by the general public or for day to day operations of the Fire Station. The proposed materials will be 20mm aggregate macadam wearing course to match adjoining tarmac, British standard concrete kerbs (flush and upstands) and yellow thermoplastic line marking to match the existing keep clear hatch marking. The boundary grass areas will be reseeded and made good. The existing pedestrian path leading to the Fire Station entrance will be retained, and will form a shared surface for both vehicles and pedestrians.
