Description
Giggs Hill Green Conservation Area - T1: Yew (Taxus baccata) Height: Approx. 8m, Lateral Spread: Approx. 4m (one-sided), Proposed Works: Fell to Ground Level Reasonings: The Yew has been poorly pruned in the past, leaving little growth on one side and around 4 metres of growth extending on the opposite side toward the nearby housing. This has created a heavily imbalanced crown with little opportunity for sympathetic reshaping. Any further remedial pruning would only worsen the tree s appearance and structure, resulting in an even more unsightly form. The tree contributes very little to the wider amenity of the area, as it is largely screened from public view by the mature TPO-protected Yew and Cypress situated in front of it.
