Tree Preservation Order - ELM:62 - T1-Horse Chestnut- Reduce the height of this tree by 2m. Current height 12m, will remain at 10m. Reduce side branches by 1.5m, current width 10m, will remain at 8.5m. Remove all moderate & major dead wood. Reduce over extended limb positioned over entrance to the property/ main gateway by 3m to bring it back into the trees natural shape. This tree has recently been dropping some branches and concern being located over the public footpath & neighbours garden where children play area is has become a concern. T2-Horse Chestnut-Reduce the height of this tree by 3m. Current height 15m, will remain at 12m. Reduce side branches by 1.5m, current width 11m, will remain at 9.5m. Remove all moderate & major dead wood. This tree has recently been dropping some branches and concern being located over the public footpath has become a concern. The tree towering over hedges below is restricting light through and the hedges are subsequently struggling. T3-Horse Chestnut- Reduce the height of this tree by 3.5m back to previous pruning points and reduce the width. Current height 9m, will remain at 5.5m. Reduce side branches by 1.5m, current width 8m, will remain at 6.5m. Remove all moderate & major dead wood. This tree has a few of problems mainly due to the age. There are multiple cavities up the main stem from large tear outs as well as historic pruning wounds incorrectly applied causing decay pockets. Branches are breaking out in high winds. This work will restrict this from happening and potentially extend the lifespan of this over mature tree.
