Thames Ditton Conservation Area - Shown on the attached drawing 32HS/P/1 is tree T1 which is a small Magnolia Grandiflora tree planted by the owner a few years ago as a shrub. The trunk at its base is around 100mm diameter. It is very close to the existing house and the existing extensions at no 32 and 30a. Photographic evidence of cracking on the existing wall of the extension at no 32 has been provided. It is also close to the shared boundary and is becoming quite large and tall, and damaging the fence. It is overshadowing the patio at no 32 and also the existing patio at no 30a. It is not thought to be possible to take the entire root ball of the tree and replant it in the garden. Therefore, it is proposed to fell the tree. The garden also has ample vegetation and trees so there is no room for new planting of a similar tree.
