Taking into consideration the trees proximity to the building and characteristics of the species, a degree of crown reduction works is considered reasonable. Agreed works for future application: T1 - Poplar: Crown reduce by up to 2.5m back to suitable growth points. Reasons: To manage the trees size in relationship to the house and adjacent Oak tree. T2 London Plane Proposed works: Crown reduction Officer comments: The London Plane has evidence of past pruning to help maintain the size of the tree in relationship to its surroundings. Reducing the tree back to the previous pruning points is considered reasonable cyclical pruning. Agreed works for future application: T2 - London Plan: Crown reduce by up to 3m (back to previous pruning points). Crown lift to provide 5m clearance from ground level. Reason for works: To undertake repeat cyclical pruning of the crown to manage its size in relationship to its surroundings. T3 Poplar Proposed works: Crown reduction Officer comments: The Poplar has a history of past heavy pruning with extensive regrowth. Repeat crown reduction works would be considered reasonable to reduce the loading on the crown. The works are considered repeat cyclical pruning and reasonable arboricultural practice. Agreed works for future application: T3 - Poplar: Crown reduce by up to 3m. Crown lift to provide 5m clearance from ground level.
