Consultation - Harwich Haven Authority is replacing the weather station mast at Landgaurd Point this work falls under their Permitted development under Class B of Part 8 of Schedule 2.The project is programmed to start in February 2024 and is estimated to be completed in two weeks. The project consists of the replacement of the existing 10-metre galvanised steel mast which is essential for monitoring the weather for the operation of the port. The new mask will also be 10 metres high and constructed of galvanised steel, a new concrete foundation (1.2m x 1.2m x 1.2m) will be constructed. The new mast will be constructed 0.5 metres seaward side of the existing mast. Once the new mast is completed the equipment will be moved from the old mast to the new one, once this is done the existing mast will be dismantled and recycled.
