Description

We are planning to create a secure, fenced dog walking field, with adjacent fenced car parking area. The existing building on the site would be removed but we would like to add a wooden shed of the same dimensions.Beccles Common is a safe place for dog walking and many use the area and let the dogs run free. Unfortunately there are some dogs, especially rescue dogs, who are intimidated by this and need a safe place. Recently there has been a significant increase of owners exercising their dogs on the nearby playing fields. Therefore we see the need to create a secure dog walking/run area which is well fenced with a secure car parking area to allow dogs to be directly driven in and released with no chance of them running off.The area is accessible from the Common car park. We intend to hire the field out in hour or half hour slots at a small fee to pay for upkeep. As such there should be no more than 2 additional car movements per hour. Since there would only be secure parking for one car, there is no likelihood of there being peak traffic problems.We would only operate the facility in daylight hours. There are no nearby houses so there is no possibility of disturbing any residents.
