Description

Erecting of Quantity FIVE Brick Buttresses, two in Fern Cottage to add to existing ones (that have been in-place for a long time) and three new in Central House. These will replace temporary timber shores that were installed by Kerslake Construction in September 2022 to reduce retaining wall safety concerns. It is expected that Kerslake will complete this buttress work as an extension of that already done. The retaining wall in question was installed in the mid 1800 (experts estimate) to accommodate the considerable drop that exists between Holy Trinity Churchyard and the gardens of the properties - as it was created by the house developers at that time. The two involved homeowners (Fern Cottage and Central House) have been kept advised and we have their agreement to the brick buttresses. Following Planning Approval (if so agreed) we are required to submit and obtain a Faculty from the Diocese and once that is granted - will formally reconfirm that to the two homeowners and formally re-obtain their approvals.
