Application Details
Description
We opened Mountainside Montessori in 2009 in De La Salle Palmerstown Rugby Club, then relocated to Holy Trinity National School in 2016. In our nearly 16 years of operation, we have built up a strong reputation in the local community and are known in particular for our excellence in supporting children with additional needs. We have capacity for 22 children in our service and all of them transition to local schools in the area, in particular, Holy Trinity NS. Although we are a private business, we are very community-based and have established warm relationships with families, children and school staff. Due to space constraints, the principal of Holy Trinity NS can no longer accommodate us in the primary school so we must surrender the space from which we currently operate. We have worked exhaustively with local representatives and the Community Team in DLRCC to identify suitable alternative accommodation. The Parish Centre is the only space that we feel will meet the requirements of TUSLA. Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council are carrying out works on the Parish Hall in order to improve accessibility, fire safety, structural stability and improved functionality. There are no changes to the elevation, all works are internal. We need to send a change in circumstances form to TUSLA and they require plans and any planning permissions. This application is to determine if we are exempt from the TUSLA planning permission requirements for this site. Is planning permission required to use the existing community centre as a Montessori from the hours of 9am to 1 pm Monday to Friday.
