Application Details
Description
4. During the course of the development, the applicant shall submit for the written agreement of the planning authority: a) Prior to the raking of the walls of the rear return, the applicant shall provide sample panels of brick raking, cleaning if required (steam cleaning only) and historically accurate lime pointing for the inspection and written agreement of the Conservation Officer. The new pointing finish shall be evidence based. b) During the development and on the erection of rear scaffold, the applicant shall conduct an inspection and tap test to determine the condition of the existing render. The CO shall be invited to the site to review and discuss the existing render and to agree a conservation approach in writing. The proposed use of a coloured lime render to achieve uniformity shall be omitted. New localised render shall be a traditional sand and lime to be finished as per the existing. If the entirety of the elevation is to be re-rendered, the applicant may consider the use of a cork lime render system, to be applied as per manufacturers’ specifications, but to achieve the original render finish. If new localised or wholesale ruled-and-lined render is to be provided to the rear elevation, the CO shall inspect and agree site-based sample panels.
