3. The developer shall comply with the following conservation requirements: a) In advance of works commencing on site, the applicant/developer shall submit the following information for the written agreement of the planning authority: iii. The applicant/developer shall provide justification for the proposed window types and scaled drawings of the proposed windows, demonstrating that these will be accurately based on surviving historic windows on the neighbouring buildings. 1:20 drawings of proposed window types, indicating the layout of panes, the profile of glazing bars and design of the window horns and the profile of window heads shall be submitted. The installation of slim-profiled double-glazing may be considered where well detailed. The new frames should have a traditional putty finish to the exterior. Details of the proposed new glazing should also be submitted. The applicant shall ensure that any proposed slim-line glass replacements conform to EU directives and shall confirm this in writing to the planning authority. The use of a slim profiled glazing with frittered glass between the panes is not appropriate for this protected structure and will not be supported as it can cause serious injury to the legibility of the glazing and special architectural character of the protected structure. 1:5 details of frames and glazing bars (where appropriate) shall be provided demonstrating there will be increase in thickness to accommodate the proposed glazing.
