3. The developer shall comply with the following requirements of the Conservation Officer: (b) Prior to the commencement of the development, the applicant shall submit for the written approval of the planning authority: (i) 1:10 drawings for the proposed timber sash window, with profiles to match a surviving original two-over-two pane timber sash window on the front elevation. The sash window shall be externally putty faced with a glazing-compatible putty, such as a traditional linseed putty or a proprietary putty such as Hodgeson’s Heritage putty (for use with slim-profiled double-glazed units). Any proposed slim-profiled glazing shall conform to EU directives, shall not contain fritted glass, visible spacers, glass micro pillars, spacing dots, vacuum seals, or plant-on glazing bars. Glass shall be clear. Draft brushes are a preferred form of draft proofing from a conservation perspective.
