Description

EXPP: The purpose of this application is to confirm that the proposed works constitute exempted development and that the established use of the property (community centre) is to remain unchanged. The property is currently in use as a community dwelling, and it is proposed that this use will continue without alteration. No material change of use is proposed. The works proposed are limited to internal repairs, fit-out and upgrading works, together with minor external repair and refurbishment works, and include the following: i) Internal repairs and refurbishment/fit out works. ii) Mechanical and electrical upgrades. iii) Installation of a compliant FDAS, emergency escape lighting & signage. iv) Refurbishment and repair of existing windows and doors on a like-for-like basis. v) External repointing and repair of existing masonry. vi) General maintenance and conservation work to traditional elements. vii) Retention and repair of traditional architectural elements of the building. The proposed works do not involve any increase in floor area, alterations to the building envelope, changes to external appearance (other than repair and maintenance), or works that would materially affect the character of the structure or the surrounding area.
