EXPP: DETAILS OF PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT This Section 5 application relates solely to a minor alteration at roof level to accommodate a lift overrun associated with the approved internal lift. • The previously approved scheme provides for a platform lift serving all levels. • Following detailed design and accessibility review, it has been determined that a traction lift is required as platform lifts are proving operationally slow and unsuitable for the intended use of the building, particularly having regard to mobility and rehabilitation needs. • The traction lift requires an additional overrun clearance of approximately 835mm above roof level. • The lift overrun is fully contained within the previously approved setback roof extension footprint. • The roof extension is significantly set back from both the lane elevation and rear garden elevation and is not visible from the public realm. • The proposed overrun results in a very minor increase in height within this already recessed zone and does not materially alter the character, scale, massing or visual impact of the permitted development. • There is no change to the approved use, footprint, or overall design intent of the development. The alteration is minor in scale and limited in visual impact and is confined to the setback roof area as illustrated on Drawing No. 266-T-1004.
