5. The proposed development shall comply with the following requirements of the Council’s Drainage Division: a) The developer shall comply with the Greater Dublin Regional Code of Practice for Drainage Works Version 6.0 (available from www.dublincity.ie Forms and Downloads). b) The drainage for the proposed development shall be designed on a completely separate foul and surface water system with a combined final connection discharging into Uisce Éireann’s combined sewer system. c) The applicant shall ensure the two systems are separate until the final foul manhole in accordance with the type H manhole shown in the Greater Dublin Regional Code of Practice V6.0, The outfall manhole shall be located within the final site boundary of the development. d) The development shall incorporate Sustainable Drainage Systems in the management of surface water. The Developer’s submission includes a proposal to construct a soakaway as part of this development. The design and construction of soakaways must comply with the requirements of BRE Digest 365 and CIRIA C753. Full details of the surface water management proposals shall be agreed in writing with DPPDC Section prior to commencement of construction. e) As the proposed development in situated in a high risk flood zone, the Developer shall ensure that the following items are incorporated into flood management for the proposed development: i. Emergency plan for evacuation ii. Flood resilience of proposed development. iii. Safety of occupants f) Where a building is being extended and the extension is to be built over or in close proximity to a drain / combined drain, the work should be carried out without endangering the integrity of the drain or limiting access to the drain for the purposes of inspection or maintenance. g) Any new paving shall be carried out in a sustainable manner so that there is no increase in surface water run-off to the drainage network as per the Dublin City Development Plan 2022-2028. h) All private drainage such as, downpipes, gullies, manholes, armstrong junctions, etc. are to be located within the final site boundary. Private drainage is not permitted in public areas, or areas intended to be taken in charge. Reason: In the interest of public health.
