5. The following requirements of the Engineering Department (Drainage Division) shall be complied with: a) The developer shall comply with the Greater Dublin Regional Code of Practice for Drainage Works Version 6.0 (available from www.dublincity.ie Forms and Downloads). b) The development is to be drained on a completely separate foul and surface water system with surface water discharging to the public surface water sewer network. The proposed surface water manhole shall connect to the existing public surface water sewer, not the foul sewer as is shown. c) The development shall incorporate Sustainable Drainage Systems in the management of surface water. d) The Developer’s submission includes the proposal to construct a soakaway as part of this development. The design and construction of soakaways must comply with the requirements of BRE Digest 365 and CIRIA C753. Full details of these shall be agreed in writing with the Planning Authority (DPPDC Section) prior to commencement of construction. e) The outfall surface water manhole and the outfall pipe from this development must be constructed in accordance with the Greater Dublin Regional Code of Practice for Drainage Works Version 6.0. The outfall manhole shall be located within the final site boundary of the development. f) A connection from this development to the public Surface Water sewer network will only be granted when the developer has obtained the written permission of the Planning Authority (DPPDC Section). All expense associated with carrying out the connection work are the responsibility of the developer. Developers are not permitted to connect to the public Surface Water network system without written permission from the Planning Authority (DPPDC Section). Any unauthorised connections shall be removed by the Planning Authority (DPPDC Section) at the developer’s expense. A licence will be required from the Planning Authority (DPPDC Section) to allow the connection work to be carried out. Permission of the Roads Dept. must also be obtained for any work in the public roadway. g) All private drainage such as, downpipes, gullies, manholes, armstrong junctions, etc. are to be located within the final site boundary. Private drainage is not permitted in public areas, or areas intended to be taken in charge. Reason: To ensure the protection of public drainage infrastructure, and the satisfactory management of surface water runoff and flood risk as a result of the development.
