4. During the course of development and prior to the commencement of the respective work packages, the Applicant shall submit the following conservation details/revisions for the written approval of the Planning Authority: d) Historic timber sash windows: Submit a detailed window schedule that indicates all locations where historic glass survives to existing timber sash windows, indicating where slim-profiled double glazing may be installed as individual panels/units within the glazing bars. 1:20 drawings and 1:5 details shall be submitted to confirm that slim-profiled double glazing can be accommodated, and identifying proposed conservation repairs to the historic windows. Plant-on glazing bars will not be permitted. Sashes shall be externally putty faced with a glazing-compatible putty. Slim-profiled glazing shall confirm to EU directives or regulations and shall not contain visible spacers, spacing dots, fritted glass, glass micro-pillars or visible vacuums seals. Slim-profiled glazing units shall be no more than 11mm in total depth. Glass shall be clear. Timber sashes may be fitted with a discrete brush-seal system for draught proofing. It is recommended that the applicant contacts an experienced conservation joiner to craft these windows and inform the applicant on a suitable design approach.
