EXPP: PROTECTED STRUCTURE: The site contains an existing single-storey stone-built garden shed located to the rear of the dwelling house, within the curtilage of the property. It is proposed to extend the existing stone shed by enlarging its footprint to the south, utilising available space immediately adjacent to the existing structure. The extension will be single-storey and of similar construction and appearance to the existing shed. The idea is to increase the usable size of the shed, which will continue to be used as a utility/storage space. The current size is approximately 6m² and the proposed size will be approximately 10m². The question for determination is whether the proposed extension of the existing stone shed constitutes exempted development within the meaning of Section 4(1) of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended) and Schedule 2, Part 1 of the Planning and Development Regulations 2001 (as amended), or whether planning permission is required.
