Description

EXPP: PROTECTED STRUCTURE: 1. Removal of cement pointing, and partial re-pointing in lime mortar the west, south and east facades of the south porch and adjoining areas of the south aisle. 2. Replacement of an existing 1950s storage cabinet in the west aisle of the south transept, with a larger unit (to match the existing cupboard in the east transept), together with the moving of the existing AV screen from its current location in the east aisle to the rear of the new unit in the west aisle. This new cupboard will facilitate the removal of several stainless steel and perspex display stands. No additional services are required for this work as the proposed new unit will be free standing. 3. Replace the existing welcome desk with a smaller unit designed in a similar language to the new choristers robing area in the north transept. The new unit will include two staff workstations, improved storage, and a display cabinet for artefacts relating to Dean Jonathan Swift. This new cupboard will facilitate the removal of several stainless steel and perspex display stands and one large and visually intrusive information panel. No additional services are required for this work as the proposed new unit will be free standing.
