3. Prior to commencement of construction the developer shall submit the following information for written agreement of the Conservation Officer: (a) submission of a sample of Wicklow Granite for use on the principle elevation, and 1:20 dimensioned drawing of the proposed cornice and quoin profile (with the input of a Conservation Professional and experienced Stonemason) to include a methodology for the insertion of the new materials in an authentic manner relative to the face of the brickwork. (b) 1:50 and 1:20 drawings of a simple and contemporary interpretation of traditional vertical circular bars and handrail, fabricated in a traditional manner in high-quality solid bronze or cast iron, avoiding the use of stainless streel in this instance instead of glass guardings to the stairs, steps and lower ground floor areas on the principal elevation. Reason: In order to protect the architectural character, amenity, setting and curtilage of the immediately adjoining Protected Structures at Nos. 43 and 49 Pembroke Road and the wider Z2 residential conservation area, and to ensure that the proposed works are carried out in accordance with best conservation practice.
