2. The following requirements of the Council’s Conservation Division shall be complied with: f) Through Condition, the applicant shall submit revised drawings with the following amendments: i. Details at 1:10 of the proposed internal staircase between ground floor and lower ground floor level. ii. A reduction in the height of the proposed extension to be the height of a single storey extension at lower ground floor only. iii. The detailing of the proposed stud lining in the bathroom on the first floor return shall be amended to avoid impact on the window surround. h) The applicant shall clarify how solar panels would be affixed to the existing roof, and shall provide details of the proposed service runs and the location for the battery storage. The CO recommends that cable runs shall be located between joists and / or through existing service runs in order to avoid notching and any subsequent further impact on historic fabric. i) Prior to the commencement of the development, the applicant shall submit for the written approval of the planning authority: i. Samples of five projects of a similar nature carried out by each specialist heritage contractors for the repair of historic finishes (for instance decorative plasterwork ceilings, wig pointing of historic brick work and ironwork repair etc.). j) During the course of the development, and in advance of this package of works commencing, the applicant shall submit for the written approval of the planning authority: i. Wig pointing of brickwork shall be carried out using NHL 2 lime mortar. The mortar mixes shall be submitted for the written approval of the Conservation Officer. ii. Samples of brickwork raking, cleaning, wig-repointing, brick repairs etc. shall be prepared for inspection and written approval of the Conservation Officer. iii. Samples of the proposed external stone steps and the proposed mortar pointing technique shall be submitted to the CO for their approval.
