Description

26. The developer shall facilitate the preservation, recording and protection of archaeological materials or features which exist within the site. In this regard, the developer shall notify the planning authority in writing at least four weeks in advance of the commencement of development works on the site. The developer shall also comply with the following requirements:- (c) Having completed the work, the archaeologist should submit a written report to the planning authority and to the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage in advance of the commencement of construction works. Where archaeological material or features are shown to be present, preservation in situ, preservation by record (excavation) or monitoring may be required. In default of agreement between the parties regarding compliance with any of the requirements of this condition, the matter shall be referred to An Bord Pleanála for determination. Reason: In order to preserve the archaeological heritage of the site in situ or by record.
