Description
4. The developer shall comply with the following Conservation requirements of the Planning Authority: a. The applicant shall submit the following architectural conservation details/revisions for the written approval of the Planning Authority prior to the commencement of development: i. Samples of the proposed cladding to the rear extension. ii. 1:10 detail of the junction between the proposed external basement stairs and the window sill, demonstrating there would be no adverse impact on the historic sill. iii. Revised drawing of the proposed basement door for approval demonstrating its design is based on surviving historic basement doors within the surrounding streetscape. iv. Revised second floor plan ensuring the proposed ensuite does not obstruct the chimneybreast. v. A methodology for the proposed installation of solar panels shall be submitted. This shall include: • A detailed description of the existing roof structure and ensure minimal loss of historic fabric. Where roof timbers and/or floor joists need to be strengthened for structural reasons, details of those works should also be submitted. • The method statement should include as much detail as possible including accurate details of where the solar installations are to be located, together with details of likely impacts of the works to historic fabric, and other details such as openings, maintenance hatches, fixings and the location of associated equipment such as pipe routes and/or hot water tank. These should be considered carefully, clearly indicating any impacts on surviving historic fabric e.g. lath and plaster ceilings/cornices etc. if services pass outside the attic/roof area. • The location of solar batteries should be carefully considered due to the potential increased fire risk associated with them. Consideration of alarm systems that could be put in place to indicate a potential issue.
