6. The following requirements of the Planning Authority’s Conservation Section shall be fully complied with in the proposed development: (a) The applicant shall submit the following architectural conservation details/revisions for the written approval of the Planning Authority prior to the commencement of development: (i) 1:20 elevations of the proposed boundary including new vehicular gates shall be provided in advance of works commencing, demonstrating the retention of maximum historic fabric including the surviving decorative cast-iron panel which would have been one of a pair, flanking the historic pedestrian entrance. A methodology for repair of the historic boundary railings and plinth shall be submitted. (ii) Methodology for the repair, including repointing, of the historic boundary walls to the rear garden shall be submitted demonstrating these works will be carried out in line with best conservation practice. (iii) 1:20 drawings of the proposed replacement windows demonstrating the windows are accurately detailed and based on surviving historic windows to the adjoining structures. 1:5 profile details are to be provided. The new frames should have a traditional putty finish to the exterior. Details of the proposed new glazing should also be submitted. The applicant shall ensure that any proposed slim-line glass replacements conform to EU directives and shall confirm this in writing to the Planning Authority. The use of a slim profiled glazing with frittered glass between the panes is not appropriate for this Protected Structure and will not be supported as it can cause serious injury to the legibility of the glazing and special architectural character of the Protected Structure.
