2. The developer shall comply with the following requirements f) The applicant shall invite the Conservation Officer to visit the site when the scaffolding is in place to facilitate an inspection of the elevations at close quarters. Roof slating shall be carefully stripped off the building following the removal of hessian bitumen and sizes recorded, to facilitate the reinstatement of diminishing courses to match existing arrangement. Sound slates shall be set aside for reuse, and the replacement slate shall match the existing Bangor Blue Slate on a like-for-like basis in accordance with best conservation practice. Ensure that a sufficient supply of replacement Bangor Blue Slate is ordered in advance to facilitate the replacement works. A site visit shall be facilitated by the applicant when the roofing works are underway. A sample of an existing slate and the new Bangor Blue slate shall be submitted to the Conservation Officer for approval. The introduction of an alternative slate will not be supported by the Conservation Officer. A sample shall be prepared of raking out and lime repointing, lime render repair and stone repair for inspection by the Conservation Officer.
