4. The developer shall comply with the following requirements of the Conservation Officer of Dublin City Council; a) The applicant shall submit the following architectural conservation details/revisions for the written approval of the Planning Authority prior to the commencement of development: i) A Grade 1/Grade 2 Conservation Architect (or equivalent Conservation Professional) with proven and appropriate expertise shall be employed to design, manage, monitor and implement the works to the building and to ensure adequate protection of the retained and historic fabric during the works. In this regard, all permitted works shall be designed to cause minimum interference to the retained building and facades structure and/or fabric vi) Condition survey of the boundary wall, cross-referenced to photographs, together with detailed schedules of any repair and reinstatement works required is to be submitted for approval. This shall include structural stabilisation as a result of the excavation of foundations for the new extension, including drawings of same. A method statement for any repair works and interface details associated with construction of the new extension shall be provided, in accordance with best conservation practice. x) Methodology for all roofworks including rainwater goods is to be provided in advance of works being carried out. This is to include details on all materials proposed for use such as confirmation that replacement slate will be natural Blue Bangor slate and new rainwater goods will be cast-iron in line with best conservation practice. xi) Revised fully detailed information, informed by good conservation practice, on how new work and how conservation repairs shall be carried out. A conservation expert with appropriate expertise should submit a detailed methodology and specification for all b) The applicant shall submit the following architectural conservation details/revisions for the written approval of the Planning Authority: i) Following provision of a scaffold to the front façade, the Conservation Officer shall be given the opportunity to inspect the façade to assess the condition of the brickwork and agree the proposed strategy for repair. This will include inspection of the pointing to agree the correct joining profile and mix. ii) A detailed schedule/marked up drawing of repairs to the façade following inspection at close quarters is to be provided.conservation repair works to external walls, surviving plasterwork, joinery, timber floors, etc.
