26. The developer shall facilitate the preservation, recording and protection of archaeological materials or features which exist within the site. In this regard, the developer shall notify the planning authority in writing at least four weeks in advance of the commencement of development works on the site. The developer shall also comply with the following requirements:- (a) The developer shall engage the services of a suitably qualified archaeologist to carry out an Archaeological Impact Assessment of the development site. The assessment will include the results of an archaeological geophysical survey. No subsurface work should be undertaken in the absence of the archaeologist without his/her express consent.
