4. The developer shall comply with the following requirements of the Conservation Section of Dublin City Council: a) The applicant shall submit the following architectural conservation details/revisions for the written approval of the Planning Authority prior to the commencement of development: i. 1:10 details of all junctions between the extension and historic structure are to be provided including all flashing details. vi. The Conservation Section has concerns about the use of heat pumps within traditionally constructed buildings as they should not be fully air tight due to their need to ‘breathe’. The applicant is requested to consider this concern and to provide an evidence based report from appropriate professional experts to demonstrate that the use of a heat pump will not have a detrimental impact on the breathability of the protected structure and long term protection and preservation of the building‘s fabric. As an alternative, the applicant may propose a different heating system.
