4. The applicant shall submit the following architectural conservation details/revisions for the written approval of the Planning Authority prior to the commencement of development: a) Drawings at a scale of 1:10 showing the flashing details between the proposed extension and the original building, and confirmation of the details for rainwater management for the east elevation of the Protected Structure. b) Following removal of the render from the front elevation, the Conservation Officer shall be given the opportunity to inspect the masonry façade from a scaffolding to assess the condition of the brickwork. c) Confirmation of all finishes to the Protected Structure including the proposed extension and pointing finish of the historic brickwork, if this is to be reinstated. The proposed use of brick to the extension, particularly if the historic brick front elevation is reinstated, is not acceptable. d) Site samples/exemplars for the removal of pointing, raking out, cleaning, patch repairs, re-facing and repointing for the building shall be agreed on site with the Conservation Officer prior to these works commencing. e) The applicant shall submit details of five recent examples of specialist façade works carried out by the proposed contractor on protected structures of similar architectural significance in Dublin and associated references to ensure that the contractor has the requisite expertise for these works.
