7. The developer shall comply with the following Conservation requirements of the Planning Authority: c) The Applicant is requested to submit the following details for the written agreement of the Planning Authority in advance of the works commencing: i. 1:20 elevations of the proposed replacement windows confirming all details for the windows, ensuring these are accurate to the building’s age. ii. A detailed window survey shall be carried out demonstrating the condition of all surviving historic windows. The proposed replacement of the original sashes to the window opes is to be revised and the historic sashes retained. The window survey should include a detailed description of the existing timber windows and detail any surviving historic glazing. It should include detailed photographs of the existing windows. Details of the extent of the required repairs should be outlined in a method statement. The provision of a slimline double-glazing would be considered, subject to confirmation that there is no surviving historic glass. 1:5 details of the historic glazing bars/frames are to be provided demonstrating the proposed glazing is appropriate for the historic joinery. iii. Details of the proposed new glazing to all new and historic windows should. The applicant shall ensure that any proposed slimline glass replacements conform to EU directives and shall confirm this in writing to the Planning Authority. The use of a slim-profiled glazing with frittered glass between the panes is not appropriate and will not be supported as it can cause serious injury to the legibility of the glazing and special architectural character of the Protected Structure. The glazing shall be putty-fixed.
