8. The developer shall comply with the following requirements of the Development Applications Unit of the Dept. of Local Gov, Housing & Heritage iv. A suitably qualified archaeologist (licensed under the National Monuments Acts 1930–2004) will be engaged to carry out archaeological testing and monitoring of site investigations works, archaeological monitoring of demolition phases, site preparation and pre-construction testing, and archaeological excavation at the site. No sub-surface work shall be undertaken in the absence of the archaeologist without his/her express consent; v. Based on the results of the archaeological testing and monitoring the archaeologist will provide an Archaeological Impact Assessment to describe the impact of the foundation and basement design and service trenches on archaeological structures and stratigraphy and to describe the proposed archaeological mitigation of such impacts; Reason: To ensure the continued preservation (either in situ or by record) of places, caves, sites, features or other objects of archaeological interest.
