2. The following requirements of the Planning Authority’s Conservation Section shall be fully complied with in the proposed development: a. The applicant shall submit the following architectural conservation details/revisions for the written approval of the Planning Authority prior to the commencement of development: (i) 1:50 section drawing demonstrating the retention of nib walls and a downstand at the proposed opening in the rear wall linking through to the extension to enable legibility of the historic floor plan. (ii) 1:10 details of all junctions between the extension and historic structure. (iii) Schedules of any repair and reinstatement works required to the rear garden boundary walls, to include potential structural stabilisation as a result of the excavation of foundations for the new extension. A method statement for any repair works and interface details associated with construction of the new extension shall be provided, in accordance with best conservation practice. 1:10 details of the junctions between the extension and the boundary walls are to be provided including flashing details. (iv) 1:20 drawings of the proposed timber sash windows are to be provided demonstrating with justification for the chosen pane arrangement. It is suggested that these should be two-over-two arrangements. The installation of slim profiled double-glazing may be considered where well-detailed; 1:5 details of glazing bars are to be provided demonstrating the proposed glazing can be housed within historically-correct dimensioned glazing bars. Details of the proposed new glazing should also be submitted. The applicant shall be satisfied that any proposed glazing conform to EU directives. The new glazing should have a traditional putty finish to the exterior. (v) 1:20 drawings of the proposed shutters and architraves are to be provided, together with justification for the design of the joinery i.e. based on surviving historic examples. (vi) Confirmation of the proposed insulation to be used. (vii) 1:10 details of the tapered junctions between the proposed insulation and the surviving cornices.
