2. The following requirements of the Planning Authority’s Conservation Section shall be fully complied with: a) The applicant shall submit the following architectural conservation details/revisions for the written approval of the Planning Authority prior to the commencement of development: i. Site exemplars for the removal the cementitious mortar to the east and south elevations, raking out of joints to the north and west elevations, cleaning, patch repairs, re-facing and repointing including joint profile of the stone elevations shall be agreed on site with the Conservation Section prior to works commencing; together with mixes and proposed finish of the render to the east and south elevations. The applicant shall submit details of five recent examples of specialist render and re-pointing works carried out by the proposed contractor on protected structures of similar architectural significance in Dublin and associated references to ensure that the contractor has the requisite expertise for these works. ii. The east elevation of the structure shall be inspected following removal of the render to identify if any details including profile and surrounds of the historic openings survive. Incorporating these into the final presentation of the east elevation is to be given consideration and details on this are to be provided to the Conservation Section prior to works commencing. iii. Revised plans showing the retention of the stone wall forming the west elevation of the current extension. This wall and the current door opening, which corresponds with a historic opening, are a vestige of the former coach house’s connection with the main house. iv. Detailed schedules of any repair and reinstatement works required to the historic boundary wall along the south side of the site, to include repointing, consolidation and structural stabilisation as a result of the excavation of foundations for the new extension, including drawings of same. A photographic survey of existing conditions, method statement for any repair works to the wall and 1:10 drawings of the interface details associated with construction of the new extension shall be provided, in accordance with best conservation practice. v. 1:10 details of the flashing junctions for the proposed veranda and the west elevation. vi. Revised plans showing the retention of the corner chimneybreast to the southwest corner of the proposed kitchen.
