9. The following conditions of the Planning Conservation Section to be complied with a) A conservation expert with proven and appropriate expertise shall be employed to design, manage, monitor and implement the works to the building and to ensure adequate protection of the retained and historic fabric during the works. In this regard, all permitted works shall be designed to cause minimum interference to the retained building and facades structure and/or fabric. The applicant shall submit the contact details of this conservation expert for the written agreement of the Conservation Office. b) In order to ensure protection and conservation of the features of historic and architectural significance in the building, the applicant shall submit the following information to the Conservation Office for their written agreement: i. A comprehensive and detailed photographic survey cross referenced against a drawn record of the extant building including internal rooms, with historic fabric and architectural features identified. ii. Revised fully detailed information, informed by good conservation practice, on how new work and how all conservation repairs shall be carried out. This shall include but not be limited to repairs to brickwork, stonework, floor surfaces, timber joists, historic joinery, historic flat and decorative plaster etc. iii. Detailed drawings that co-ordinate structural intervention, services installation and general upgrading and repair works to the fabric of the Protected Structure. iv. The applicant shall submit a detailed methodology and specification of the proposed works required to accommodate the ramp and 1:5 section details setting out how this ramp can be accommodated with limited impact on historic fabric. v. The applicant shall submit a specification for the proposed paint and samples of the proposed colours shall be provided to the Conservation Office for their written agreement in advance of work commencing on site. The Conservation Office requests that the applicant considers the removal of all extant paint from the front façade of the Protected Structure in order to restore its original character, the specification and methodology for the removal of paint shall be agreed in writing with the Conservation Office in advance of work commencing. vi. If, in the course of carrying out opening work, it is discovered that hitherto historic fabric has been concealed beneath modern partitions / ceilings / panelling etc., the applicant shall contact the Conservation Office to keep them informed in order to agree a revised conservation strategy. Reason: To ensure that the integrity of this protected structure is maintained and that the proposed repair works are carried out in accordance with best conservation practice with no unauthorised or unnecessary damage or loss of historic building fabric.
