7. The following requirements of the Planning Authority’s Conservation Section shall be fully complied with in the proposed development: a) The applicant shall submit the following architectural conservation details/revisions for the written approval of the Planning Authority prior to the commencement of development: i. Revised drawings of the proposed shopfront as follows: - In advance of commencement of works on site, the applicant is to submit a survey of the extant shopfront to No. 50 demonstrating that it has been thoroughly investigated to identify any surviving historic fabric. Should any surviving historic fabric be identified, a revised shopfront design, at a scale of 1:10, is to be submitted for No. 50, that is informed by historic evidence. It is also recommended that historic photographic archives at the National Library of Ireland and the Irish Architectural Archive be investigated to identify if photographic evidence of the historic shopfront can be identified. If no historic evidence, either physical or documentary, for a historic shopfront to No. 50 can be identified, revised drawings, at a scale of 1:10, of a contemporary high quality shopfront in accordance with Dublin City Council’s Shopfront Design Guide, are to be submitted. These should clearly detail all materials to be used. - A revised shopfront design for No. 50 is to be submitted which is to be of good quality contemporary design, using high quality materials in accordance with Dublin City Council’s Shopfront Design Guide. The proposed shopfront design should also demonstrate a carefully considered means of addressing the step between the two elevations, ensuring this remains legible. ii. A detailed methodology for the proposed structural works required to install the new shopfront to No. 50 including methodologies for the repair of all impacted historic fabric.
