Description

EXPP: PROTECTED STRUCTURE: The works will comprise the removal and repair of the sandstone four columns. The work will also include repairs to the capitals which are badly weathered. It will also require the replacement of the unseen wrought iron pegs which support the columns and their replacement with stainless steel. The bellcote is a primary architectural feature on the Italianate front facade of this church. However, the decorative columns are non-structural components, this repair will ensure that it is not only aesthetically repaired but also safe and not in danger of falling from the building and endangering the public.
