6. The following requirements of the Council’s Conservation Department shall be complied with: g) A structural assessment of the elevations to No.15-17 Grafton Street shall be prepared by an engineer with proven expertise in building conservation and submitted to the Conservation Officer for review. The report shall provide commentary on the structural condition of these elevations having regard for the works which were undertaken under Planning Reg. Ref. 0199/13 and in light of the extensive façade retention which was undertaken in the 1990’s. The applicant shall establish through on-site investigation whether the elevations to Nos.15-17 Grafton Street incorporate sandstone elements. The Conservation Officer shall be given the opportunity to inspect the façades of No.15-17 Grafton Street from the scaffolding to review the fabric (stucco/sandstone) in addition to any additional underlying structural defects. A site-specific method statement and revised drawing survey incorporating any structural interventions required shall be submitted to the Conservation Officer for written approval in advance of the repair works to this elevation. Samples of materials and site exemplars of the proposed lime render finish shall be provided for inspection by and written approval of the Conservation Officer. The applicant shall submit details of five recent examples of specialist stucco repair/reinstatement works carried out by the proposed contractor on protected structures of similar architectural significance in Dublin and associated references to ensure that the contractor has the requisite expertise for these works.
