EXPP: PROTECTED STRUCTURE: Localised repairs and replacement of windows. Replace existing kitchen units. Reusing the existing service routes and vents to the open air Replace sanitary ware in bathrooms. Reusing the existing service routes and vents to the open air. Replace all floor coverings. Replace existing electric panel heaters with electric panel heaters, removing all reductant pipework and boiler. Upgrade certain doors to appropriate fire- resistance standards. Upgrade fire detection and alarm installation. Windows: Repair to the windows will comprise of converting the modern windows at the front of the building back to traditional timber sash windows. Kitchen: All existing kitchen fittings date from the early 1990s. These will be replaced by contemporary fittings, of the same extent and in same location with the existing service routes will be reused. Sanitary: Sanitary ware will be replaces with like, but of contemporary design. Alterations to plumbing or electrical works will, as to kitchens, will be run in existing service routes. Floor coverings: Floor coverings are at present mostly carpet, with some tiling or vinyl sheet material in kitchens and bathrooms. Fire Safety: The existing fire detection and alarm installation will upgraded, involving the replacement of certain existing components and wiring. As recent developments in technology have led to miniaturization of such components etc. installations will now inevitably make less of an impact on the structure. The works are fundamentally about the maintenance and enhancement of the structure, thus ensuring it is protected from endangerment. External Works: Brick work repointing and making good of the masonry, using NHL2.0 based mortar mix.
